IRVINE, Calif. – The Cal Poly women's cross country team dominated the UC Irvine Invitational on Saturday at the Anteater Recreation Center Course. The Mustangs placed all five scoring runners in the top 15 and four in the top eight in winning with 38 total points.
Azusa Pacific was second with 59 points followed by Long Beach State with 106.
Leanne Fogg was the top Mustang finisher coming home second overall in a time of 17:29 on the 5k course.
Vanessa Hancock finished sixth leading a pack of three Mustang runners. Hancock crossed the line in 17.45 followed by Meghan Breadmore in seventh (17:47.0) and Savannah Pio in eighth (17:47.8).
Alex Ciaraglia rounded out the scoring Mustangs in 15th with a time of 18:13.
Other Mustangs competing in the invitational included Courtney Kostrikin in 18th (18:15), Hannah Edwards in 28th (18:37) and Ashley Bergstrom in 33rd (18:43).
