SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Cal Poly senior Jamie Harada received Big West Women's Golfer of the Month recognition for September after placing second at the Rose City Collegiate near Portland, Oregon.
It is the first Women's Golfer of the Month honor for a Mustang since October 2009 when Maddy Fletcher won the award.
Harada posted a career-best total for 54 holes, shooting two-under 214. In recording two rounds of 72 and a 70, her 214 total beat her previous best by nine strokes.
Her 70 in the second round was one off her career best. In addition, her 142 total for 36 holes represented a career best.
Harada was just two strokes behind individual champion Tara Finigan of Portland State. However, Harada's high finish enabled the Mustangs to capture the team championship with a 7-over 871 total, a stroke ahead of runner-up Portland State.
From Costa Mesa, Calif., Harada is a graduate of Mater Dei High School.
