Santiago Wins her Fifth Conference Player of the Week Award

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal Poly senior Kristina Santiago earned her fifth Big West Player of the Week award for leading the women's basketball team to a pair of wins and a share of the Big West Regular Season Championship this past week.

The award is the 10th of her career and places her fourth all-time in BWC conference history.

In the team's 68-41 win over Long Beach State on Thursday, Santiago went 11-for-16 from the floor scoring 29 points and was one rebound short of a double-double.

In the showdown with Cal State Northridge, the forward recorded her 14th double-double in a 70-56 win. Her 16 points and 15 rebounds moved her into 11th place nationally for most double-doubles this season.

For the week, Santiago averaged 22.5 points and 12.0 rebounds with a 45.7 field goal percentage.

The Mustangs return to the court on Thursday when the team travels to UC Davis for a Big West Conference game at 7 pm.
