Ervin’s Career-High Wins Her Women’s Hoop Conference Award

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Cal Poly women's basketball player Jonae Ervin was selected as the Big West Conference Player of the Week when she scored a career-high 33 points in the Mustangs' season-opener against Oregon. 

In the Mustangs 102-93 loss to Pac-12's Oregon Ducks, the sophomore point guard shot 10-of-13 (.846) from the floor, including a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range. She made 6-of-10 from the free throw line for a total of 33 points, to lead all players.

Ervin's previous career-high was 19 points at Pacific last season. 

Hailing from Brea, Calif., she also tied a career-best six rebounds while adding two assists to her total.

The Mustangs will remain on the road for a game on Wednesday, Nov. 16 when the team travels to the Univ. of San Francisco for a game at 6 pm. Cal Poly will open the home season on Sunday, Nov. 20, hosting Fresno State at 2 pm.
