Cal Poly Swimmers Come Up Short
SAN DIEGO, California – Cal Poly women came up short as they faced San Diego State Saturday afternoon at the Aztec Aquaplex. The final score was 147-113.
The meet was conducted using the long course format with laps measuring 50 meters rather than the tradition 25 yards normally used in collegiate competitions.
Junior Angie Haven (seen at right) was able to pick up wins in two individual events. She got the win in the 100 meter breaststroke with a time of 1:17.09. Her other first place finish came in the 200 meter breast stroke. Her time in that event was 2:41.64.
The other Mustang with a win was senior Gloria Benefield. Her 2:23.62 in the 200 meter backstroke was enough to get her the win.
Sunday at 2pm, Cal Poly Mustangs face the Tritons of UC San Diego.
