Correia Helps Cal Poly Close 2011 with 6-5 Victory
Freshman shortstop Ashley Romano homered twice and senior catcher Stephanie Correia closed her collegiate career with a one-out, walk-off base hit during the bottom of the eighth inning as the Cal Poly softball program finished the 2011 campaign and handed head coach Jenny Condon her 200th career victory with a 6-5 triumph versus Pacific on Saturday afternoon at Bob Janssen Field.

The Cal Poly softball team scored four times with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to send the opening game of a Friday afternoon doubleheader versus Pacific into extra innings before ultimately falling in 10 innings, 6-4. During a second game that witnessed three lead changes, the Mustangs saw an early four-run lead eviscerated and dropped a 9-8 decision in eight innings at Bob Janssen Field.
