SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The 53rd-ranked Cal Poly men's tennis team will look to move up in the rankings with an upset over the 34th-ranked Bulldogs of Fresno State. First serve for the match is set for 11 am Sunday at Mustang Courts.
Cal Poly is coming off a 6-1 loss on the road to then 34th-ranked Santa Clara last week.
Junior Andre Dome lost for just the third time (12-3) during the dual season and is currently ranked 29th.
Dome and senior Matt Fawcett are the only other Mustangs ranked at No. 70, in doubles with a 6-1 record.
Fresno State enters the match ranked 34th in the nation and have two players nationally ranked. Remi Boutillier is currently ranked 25th while Francis Alcantara is ranked 51st.
In the featured match of the day, Dome will expect to play Boutillier on the first court while Alcantara is expected to matchup with Fawcett or Brian McPhee on the second court.
In doubles play the Cal Poly duo of Dome and Fawcett could match up with 78th-ranked Boutillier and Alcantera.
