SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- As part of a continuing three-year sponsorship agreement between Cal Poly Athletics and KSBY Television, announced last August, KSBY has agreed to televise all four Cal Poly home Big Sky Conference football games this fall.
The agreement was announced by Cal Poly Director of Athletics Don Oberhelman and KSBY-TV President and General Manager Kathleen Choal.
The Mustangs will play their first-ever Big Sky game Sept. 22 in Alex G. Spanos Stadium against rival UC Davis in The Battle for the Golden Horseshoe.
The remaining three games to be televised by KSBY include an Oct. 13 contest against Northern Colorado, an Oct. 20 date with Portland State and a Nov. 10 affair with Idaho State.
All four games kick off at 6:05 p.m. KSBY-TV coverage will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a live Cal Poly Pre-Game show.
"This partnership with KSBY will permit unprecedented access to Mustang Athletics," said Oberhelman. "The fact that we will have several football games televised locally is great for our fans."
"KSBY is committed to live, local coverage of sports on the Central Coast," added Choal. "We received amazing feedback on our live sports coverage last year and we are thrilled to be able to offer televised games to our viewers again this year."
KSBY broadcast three Cal Poly home football games a year ago, the first year of the three-year agreement, in addition to carrying the feed from the Mustangs' game at Montana.
The three-year agreement, in effect through June 30, 2014, made KSBY-TV the official home of Cal Poly Athletics and also included signage at Alex G. Spanos Stadium, Mott Gym, Baggett Stadium and Bob Janssen Field.
