Scrimmage, Coaches Clinic, Spring Game on Tap for Cal Poly Football
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Cal Poly's final scrimmage of the 2012 Spring Camp prior to the Green and Gold Spring Game will be held Saturday afternoon in conjunction with a coaches clinic.
Practice on the "I" Field, located behind Mott Gym and adjacent to the tennis courts and outdoor track, begins at 3 p.m., with the scrimmage to start at about 4:30 p.m.
The 2012 Coaches Clinic runs all day Saturday with registration at 8 a.m. followed by presentations from Lompoc High School head coach Andruw Jones, Stanford defensive assistant coach Tavita Pritchard, San Jose State wide receivers coach Terry Malley, Cal Poly head coach Tim Walsh and his assistant coaches.
A barbecue dinner and social follows the scrimmage.
Cost of the clinic is $25 per person, which includes coffee and donuts before the clinic, lunch and the barbecue dinner and social. The 2012 Green and Gold Spring Game, presented by Meathead Movers, is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, at 1 p.m. in Alex G. Spanos Stadium. Click here for an information page on the game.
The 2012 Football Alumni Spring Day begins with Kids Zone and Tailgating at 11 a.m., followed by the Spring Game at 1 p.m. and the Home Team Barbecue immediately following the game on the Richard O'Neill Green.
Admission to the Spring Game is free, but fans are asked to bring a monetary donation or non-perishable food item donation which will go to the local food bank.
The postgame barbecue dinner is free to current Home Team members. Fans who are not members of the Home Team may purchase barbecue tickets for $25 adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Membership fee for the Home Team is $150.
