Vaulted to the top of the depth chart at Mike linebacker at Cal Poly after an impressive spring game in 2009, moved to Will linebacker midway through the 2009 season as a redshirt freshman, started all 11 games at Sam linebacker as a sophomore in 2010 and moves back to Mike linebacker this fall to replace the departed Marty Mohamed ... selected to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-Great West Conference first team.
2010 -- A second-team All-Great West Conference selection as a sophomore after finishing No. 2 on Cal Poly’s tackle chart with 67, including 32 solo stops ... 9.5 tackles for lost yardage, including two each against Humboldt State, Texas State and South Dakota ... earned a half-sack against Texas State ... recovered a fumble against McNeese State ... two pass breakups, both against McNeese State, and a pair of quarterback hurries for the season ... matched his career high with 11 tackles in Texas State game ... also notched nine tackles against North Dakota and eight stops in three other contests.

High School -- Jackson teamed with Thomas Reynolds for over 1,800 yards rushing in 2007, leading Archbishop Mitty to a 7-4 overall record (3-3 West Catholic Athletic League) under head coach Matt Haniger ... Jackson, rated by Scout.com as the No. 4 high school fullback in the state and No. 30 in the nation by ESPN Insider, netted 729 yards and scored seven touchdowns for the Monarchs in 2007, including 178 yards on just six carries against Soquel ... earned first-team All-WCAL honors as a running back, second-team All-San Jose Mercury News as a linebacker and was honorable mention All-Metro as a linebacker as chosen by the San Francisco Chronicle ... as a junior in 2006, rushed for 853 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 5.7 yards per carry and earning first-team all-WCAL honors, as Mitty again posted 7-4 overall and 3-3 league marks, this time under head coach Dave Brown ... selected to play in the 2008 Silicon Valley Youth Classic at Spartan Stadium ... visited San Jose State, UNLV and UCLA before choosing Cal Poly.
